I bought it, read it, and made a forge from the instructions in it. I thought it was well worth the money. You might be able to find some of the same information on the net, depending on what you want it for.
I like having a book to refer too as opposed to going to a website. -

I bought a sword kit from Halberds over on the Armor Archive a year or so ago. The kit included the profile of the blade, crosspiece, and pommel which was all cut out. I had plans on doing a stock removal method but never got around to it. Then I made a forge and acquired an anvil and tools and since I am having fun forging things I decided to try a blade. I

I used to work on hydraulic test stands in the Air Force. With the bang sound, I would think you should be able to visually see where a line ruptered or something like that. Usually the hydraulics have o-rings at the connection point. If you don't see a ruptered line or something similar check the O-ring at the conection. When you put the lines back together don't use tephlon tape, hydraulic fliuid makes it a gummy mess.
