  1. Do you have anyone local that runs a small saw mill? Its a good way to get rough cut lumber and you wont pay the vintage barn wood price. Guy near my place sells 1" x 12" ceder for $ 0.50 a board foot. Pine is even less. Might be worth looking into.

  2. I don't sell at craft fairs but I have quite a bit of experience with gun shows. I work for a promoter and sit at the door. Generally year to year at the different show locations the door numbers are the same. Keeping notes and records for all the different venues you sell at will help. I would talk with the other vendors and see what shows are great and which ones are not. That might help a little when deciding what shows to attend. Ensuring with the promoter that you are the only blacksmith at a show might help too.

  3. An 18 tooth blade is really only good for cutting light tube. like less than 1/4" thick. It's not the proper blade for solid stock. You should only have 3-4 teeth in the material at a time or the chips will load and it wont cut. I would at least try an 6 or 8 tooth blade before giving up on that saw.
