  1. I don't relly know much about steel types because I've only used farm scrap off of old plows.
  2. For sake of accuracy, the steel needs to be tenacious and resistant to rust as possible. My goal is to make this into a gutting/dressing/skinning knife.
  3. I am planning to make a hunting knife that can take a beating. I need to know what type of steel I should use for the blade. It needs to be very hard, but not brittle. Advice is welcome.
  4. Ouch mike! 30$ for 50#! I'd call that price gouging. And chaos it makes perfect sense. Thank you both.
  5. Reason for asking is that I have found 2 sources, 1 in Georgetown, the other in Rockland, and the one in Georgetown only sells coke, but is 30 minutes closer.
  6. Whats ya'lls opinion on coal vs. coke?
  7. Whitebear, I'm in San Angelo, so houston isn't really an option for me yet, but thanks for the idea.
  8. Pictures of my new coal forge that I built. Unfortunately,my coal hasn't come in yet:mad:, so im using hardwood charcoal from LOWES, and it's working well enough.
  9. Im trying to get ideas for pieces for a craft show in November. I have a few I could make from anvilfire.com's iforge, but I need more. Help?
  10. Two more pieces: Photo5 my foot is size 15 mens Photo 6 from point to point the blade is 10 inches wide
