  1. Hi, everybody I don't know wether that piece of information has already been passed on... Alfred Habermann passed away on April 28th. That's a great loss first for his family and friends but also for the whole blacksmithing community worldwide. He was famous both for his sculptures and the work he did on the ergonomics of blacksmithing tools. On the one occasion I met him, I discovered a patient and lively character, always ready to give tips and advice.
  2. Hello, Thank you for the welcome message. No particular queries right now. Methink I'll just have a good look around to get more familiar with the forum and its content. Pleased to learn there's at least one fellow frog in here! :)
  3. Hello, I'm new to blacksmithing -started only about 3 years ago. I'd been thinking about it for years and finally got a training leave and did a 7-month basic blacksmithing training (great experience!). After that, the effects of the virus only got worse. I'm still working as a teacher but am also currently looking for an opportunity to put my new (modest) skills to use. I live in town but have access to a garage with a small yard. I have only basic tools including a small forge in which I burn charcoal (don't fancy being shouted at or shot at by the neighbours...), but it works and I enjoy it very much. I'm interested in blacksmithing in general and in bladesmithing too. can't think what else to say. any questions welcome
