Sorry I can't help you but I came across an anvil with the name FISHER on it and on the side it has an eagle. I weighs in the 100# range, can anyone tell me anything about this type of anvil?

Welcome aboard, glad to have ya.
I married a Yooper 13 years ago from around Ironwood. We're within driving distance and you're more than welcome to visit, just plan on a few days drive each way and have a passport to get through Canada. Alaska isn't probably what you're thinking of as "within driving distance" but. . . it is.

Well then you know that which I usually close with to be true, "If you are lucky enough to live in the U.P., then you are lucky enough." -
I would definately be interested in acquiring some of these tools. I believe that something of the previous user remains in the tools and is passed on to the next person.

Greetings from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, new to all of this....inherited an old forge and vise....the handle for the blower (manual) is missing. First project. Legs are getting rotten.....second project. Looking for anyone within driving distance of the western U.P. that I can come visit and learn from.

Hey all.....just got an anvil, 100#, I'm told it's a Fisher...sorry no pictures yet..cast iron with steel face.
Any way...it has one deep gouge about 3/4" long on the face and one edge needs some work...is Stoody rod the best way to go? I read somewhere that there were articles in the archives here, but I can't find them. Thanks
