Sierra Nevada

I am going to build a kiln on this base, with firebricks. I need a work hardening and heatreating oven. My question is can I retrofit this the way I want? Can I use propane instead of natural gas which it seems to have been plumbed for? Also I'd like to have a thermostat to maintain temp. The Forge says Johnston MFG Minneapolis MN.
