  2. All,

This coming Saturday, April 18th is our monthly meeting.  We will meet at our shop in the Rochester Arc and Flame building at 125 Fedex Way in Gates. Our continuing goal for  this year is to cover the fundamentals of blacksmithing and assist members in creating a basic tool kit for pursuing work on their own.

    For our meeting this Saturday

    8am  Arrival, Coffee/Donuts, General kabitzing

9am Demonstration followed by open forging.  This month's demo will follow up on tools for scrolling we did last month and focus on scroll finials including fish tails, beveled, half penny, and snub ends.

11:30 Quick Meeting followed by Iron in the Hat (please bring a forged item or useful tool - no junk please)

(remember the grill is available to cook things you might bring).

Note, this May 2nd the state will be holding elections.  Everyone is encouraged to participate and frankly the jobs aren't that tough, especially when the whole group chips in to help.  The NYSDB exists not just for members like you but because of members like you!  Experience is less important than eagerness.

    3:30 clean and wrap up

Please Note, if you are not current on your dues, you will not be able to forge.  Memberships run from July to June every year.
