I'm a potter east of Asheville, NC (just starting out) who wanted to add metal to my porcelain work, and have another medium to work in. Thought I'd get my "first post" bubble burst and out of the way. I'm in my first class at Haywood Community College getting my fingers singed. I figured the "feet wet" analogy doesn't really apply nearly as much as it does with pottery, unless of course I slosh something pretty aggressively in the quenching bucket.
Loving it so far, even if it's frustrating at times wrapping my head around understanding how a new media works. Definately a different approach needed from working on a potter's wheel! I'm getting there, though.
