  1. Had 15 minutes this evening quick leaf. Nothing yesterday, basketball season so off to watch the kiddo play again tonight.
  2. Thanks yes I split the end forge welding is nigh impossible in my single burner gas forge and I didn't want to hassle with coal on time crunch.
  3. A fire poker and shovel today and a bit of grinding on yesterday's blade. 23 degrees out, so cold. Not a lot of time this evening after work, shovel head is meh could use more symmetry and refinement but overall I'm happy with output today.
  4. Smaller froe I made and started on small viking style sword. Spent about 4 hrs banging around.
  5. She's rough but solid weighing in at 287lbs. I'm over the moon, just 25 years +- and I have the anvil I have always desired. No markings, the horn I believe has been modified. Won on eBay yesterday, the gentleman I purchased from is liquidating his father's estate. He advised that his father was a purveyor of fine objects and proceeded to let me poke around some! Some nice hammerheads and lots of misc tools but alas nothing I needed to drag home. However I have been seeking an anvil such as this since I began to eye blacksmithing books in the early 90s. I've ran through several railroad track anvils and have recently used my small harborfreight anvil for the last 18 years or so it's 50lbs and has served it purpose well but man o man the rebound on this baby! Anyway sorry had to post and share some pics, I'll clean it more but my wire wheel bit the dust so I wiped it off with some oil and called it day for now.
