I did look at the step-by-steps at anvilfire... My concern about the hollow used in Project 49 is that it will probably straighten out when I have used it a couple of times.. I was hoping to make one with a bit more supported mass without endless grinding ;-) The wooden ones would be nice to try once though.. I have not read that one ;-) Smithy

Hello all, I have been searching the web to gather the information I needed to start blacksmithing and I have been roaming this website ever sins. I have been forging in my backyard for about a year now whenever the weather permits it. Only producing that what can only be called failed projects. A lump of iron or a nicely shaped paperweight. Thus came the time to join this forum. And hopefully I will find some extra help and information to expand my capabilities. My Backyard is located in The Netherlands
