I Forge Iron

home made portable coal forge

dembling

This was put together from an old heavy duty factory cart salvaged in Lawrence MA about 30 years ago. A nice old 4.5 inch post vise is fixed to hardwood deck, which was original to the cart. Some hardwood was removed to make room for a plate with a cast iron fire pot below. the pot is Sutton model made by Cowanesque Valley Iron Works in PA. A nice durable model I've used in several forges. Tapered air inlet will work with fan blowers or old-time bellows!
