I just finished up the new anvil ... its a shaft of 4140 4 1/2" x 18" about 80ish lbs. ? it works great for knives and cheap to boot. had to try it out made a long knife or short sword (24")let me see if I can add the pics.:D

Hehe pretty cool. Was the 4140 salvaged from something else, or brand new?

it was a used shaft from a blower cut in half .(I work in a large machine shop) and other hammers are 2lbs dogleg(15deg. ) and a old 4lb. blacksmith ?. and thanks I love this anvil its easy to go from side to side of a blade much better than a london style. :)
