I’m sorting through my late father’s tools. He was not into blacksmithing at all, but he had these steel (iron?) blocks on his bench. I believe an older friend gave them to him. Can you help identify what they are, how they may have been used and what they might be worth? The smaller one weighs 20#. The larger one weighs 40#. It has some markings which I’ve researched without success. Appreciate any help you can offer. Oh — and I’m a complete novice, so if you can ‘splain it in layman’s terms, that would be great!
