I've have access to some big leaf springs and torsion bars and basically anything they throw away at my friends.
Don't know if you go ice fishing but if your looking for something to make. A small hand chisel ( about a 4 foot handle with a 3 to 4 inch blade) [ both handle and blade are in a straight line] to reopen already drilled hole as they tend to refreeze in on cold days. Most people these days have power angers to drill the holes, and a hand chisel can be used without disturbing the fishing line. Usually a leafe spring has a slight curve which is great for this application.
