  1. I had to visit the guy who said to put two hex nut flats together to get a drill gauge, I've done it for years. For the sake of a degree it has saved me a lot of grief and produced many good drill bits.

  2. I was in search of information on creating decorative iron. Tables, chairs, baker's racks and maybe some lighting fixtures. Strictly a hobby. At least, at first. I want to stay active and I have worked in a shop all my life. That is how I found "iron". I started welding at a trade school in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1969. When other work was hard to find I could always get a welding job and welding has been the most satisfying part of my trade, especially when fabricating. This site suggested a hello, so here it is. I enjoy more following the forum.
