Are you differentially hardening to avoid stress risers?

I really want some better pictures of those guys - the magazine background is way too busy

I normally just do a edge quench in oil.  When I first started making them I used salt water after cracking a few of them I switched to oil.  Haven't really had any problems.  I normally leave my edges thicker to help prevent warps and cracks.

Trying to add another picture messed it up first time around.  The knife with the buckeye burl sold to one of my coworkers so I only have a couple of pictures.
