  1. Thanks!
Well I'm interested in many things, arrowheads are just the beginning I hope. Still I lack some basic knowledge on coal forges and heat treatment, so I think that's what I'll start with. So, in my nearest future it's going to be a lot of reading. :)

  2. Here are some of my first arrowheads. They've seen a lot of beating on rocks and wood, since I shoot in the woods. They looked a lot better when they were new.

I've also cold beaten this hemet replica (after a finding from 13-th c. helmet from Assenova fortress):

Well I'm not even a beginner yet, compared to you, but I'm learning fast.

  3. Hi folks. I'm a member of medieval living history society in Bulgaria. Since my first weapon of choice is the bow, I tried (and succeded in about 75%) to forge my own arrowheads. For heating source I used an old electric pepper-baking device, that I believe cannot be found outside Bulgaria. It easily heated the metal rods to yellow-hot. So the arrowheads started my interest in blacksmithing.
A friend ( his real name is Thor and he's blacksmith ;)) gave me the adress of this site and after reading and reading... here I am.
Now I'm looking for a forge design that suits me best (so far the washtub seems best) , and am interested on medieval arrowheads, knives and tools smithing.

    Greetings
    Alexander
