One of the best responses to "I can make that"-
Just say, You may be able to do it, but will you?
Will you go home, set up a forge, start a fire and buy some steel and tools and pound away on your new anvil until you get a hook or wouldn't you rather buy this one and save yourself some time?
Have fun whatever you tell 'em.

I put an old used evaporative cooler in my work space. it's on wheels and I can move it inside or outside
I can turn it so it doesn't blow on my anvil or forge.
it works so well that when it wears out I will buy a new one
I also drink gatorade and lots of water

I loved pic 4 and 5. I can imagine something like that in an alien ocean swimming around looking for that creature from alien.

Walk south till people start talking funny
tell them you're a tourist and they'll open the gate
No one will look at you funny if you don't tell them you're canadian
they'll think you're from wisconson -
When i worked with my father and my father only it was a pleasure ...to work. Now when i go to the shop it's just ... i don't know i don't whana say ugly things but ... i just don't go with pleasure. I see so many flaws and nobody is responsable for them... but i have to be. Today i just sent home 2 of the people working with me. One was drinking during job and the other was doing everything that i sayed but in the oposite way(no need to say that after this show...everybody did his job right). I want to be able to do blacksmithing work with pleasure again.
I used to work with my father in road construction. When he retired i started hating my coworkers. They just didn't give a xxxx about me or what we were doing. I changed jobs and still find that most of my coworkers don't give a xxxx but I try to find people who I like and who show they care about something. You might find that what you loved about working as a blacksmith was your father. Now you just have to be proud that you carry on his legacy. Try to find what you love about the job now and enjoy it or change it. -
Hi I'm Sam
I've been addicted to blacksmithing for 27 years. I started out learning to be a farrier in Oklahoma with Bud Beaston. Loved the coal forge and the hard work. I got into welding and mechanics and then went on to a lot of other jobs. Now I'm working at a college helping students but i'm ramping up my blacksmithing once again. Wish me luck. :)

I hope Jesse James behaves better and with a lot less foul language in his blacksmithing classes and when he represents our art form and us. I was really disappointed in him when half of what he said was cusswords and half of his forge work shown on the show was burned up in his forge.
