Hello the list, made a flint striker of high tensile steel, followed some suggestions posted here. I cannot get sparks from striking it with flint. Any suggestions

Nice stand, fe wood did you tack weld your anvil to the plate?

Same here, plain and simple. I got some scrap 3/8 channel @ 12 inchs wide, I cut to peices and welded together. Put the steel plate on a Black and decker shopmate, works good in my small gargage shop.

I have to anvils, 1 hardie is 3/4 the other is 1 1/2 inch, any suggestions on hardie tools to fit both.

My shop is just out the back door, hot coffee just a few steps away, my neighbors don't complain, most times the neighbors think i am cooking something, go figure

Has anyone on the list stick welded cast aluminun? If so what electorde?

Good buy, I got a lincoln 225 myself, I use 7018's for most jobs. I got some longer leads to put on, so I can weld outside more.
