My advice if you don't want to buy an off the shelf forge is at least buy a good quality burner that suits your size of forge enclosure and the work you want to do, buy good quality gas rated fittings and hoses.Check your local fire and gas regulations/codes and your insurance does, it cover the use of this type of appliance at home?

     

     

    Since yesterday afternoon, I've been highly considering going after something like this:

    I just had a lot of people tell me to go blown burner. I plan to make knives.

  2. That's what it seems like to me too, browsing forums and etc. 

     

    I'm possibly getting some shop tools this weekend from an uncle who is now "disabled" (lazy drunk), so I guess I can wait until then. 

     

    I'm not interested in buying a pre-fabricated one.
