If it's too thin to weld, you can cut a slot with a chop saw on one side of a peice of tube steel then slide the mesh into it. I have done some fireplace screens this way.

Here's the foundation I just did for my 250# little giant. There is 4 yards of 8000 psi concrete. I went with the plans from Sid's little giant website.

I was at a hammer-in at Sierra Fire and Forge a few months ago. They have a nazel that is on a foundation that is surounded by white foam blocks, the kind they use in post tension building const. That realy works good on dampening the vibration.

One time when I had arc flash about 15 years ago, I was visiting a friend who had just married a kinda hippie woman who was all into erbal stuff. She seen my reed arc flashed eyeballs and knew just what to do. She went out into her back yard and picked some leaves off a borage weed. Then she put them into an old coffee kettel and she steamed the leaves somehow and put the liquid in a eye droper for me. It worked like magic! no more sand paper eyes.

When I started twisting those pickets cold, whatever was gona break broke. I broke the old gear box. and i got this one on ebay for $100 bucks. I got a lovejoy spider gear from McMaster Carr, One side broke in half on one cold morning so I just welded the xxxx out of it. It's powered by a milwaukee mag drill.

I've been using the 3M ceramic belts from Pop's for rough grinding. they last twice as long as zirconia belts.

I got the handle material from K&G

I used a 40 grit then a 220 grit belt on a medium speed to shape it. I deeply roughed up the tang and the inside of the scales before epoxying. and I peined the pins over realty good.
All the rubber shavings floated on top of the water and when I went to grind a piece of metal it started burning and stunk up the shop pretty good. So ya just have to remember to move the water bucket before grinding rubber.
I do like the performance of the handle. Even when its wet I still have a good grip. I will be using it again on some of my working knives.

Hi Im new here. I just found this fourm and I had to check it out. I build iron handrailings for a living. And I make knives sometimes too.
Here is a machetti I just finished for a client who will use it at work. I forged it from a peice of 3/16"x 2" L6. It's 19" long with a rubber handle. I tested it out by chopping down some small trees on my property.
