Hi All, I was given a forge, the blower fans are actuated by a belt , the flywheel is geared and a 1/4 shaped gear with counter weight actuates the fly wheel that gear is operated by a wooden handle from the top of the forge. there seems to be something missing from the center of the flywheel. Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about? If so Please help I will attempt pics later

Thanks to Timothy, this anvil sat is the same shop since the 30's So I assume it is a good one. Thanks to Thomas I will have to find some way to weigh It.
I am not sure what to ask for it so I will keep on researching, I am getting an education on anvils. -
Thanks for the reply. On my anvil the hardy and pritchet hole is in the back. Interestingly my right side faceplate is rough on the edge as is yours

I do but the anvil is mounted on a heavy piece of wood by a heavy bracket

Thank you Iron Dragon I checked the catalog and found one that was close. The only difference that I could see was the support for the legs. Mine has a round ring that bolts to the legs on the bottom.
