Guys, sorry, but I'm a total DA when it comes to this process with the spikes, and where and how to make the cuts, could someone post up a how to on this or send me a pm or e-mail, blebass@bellsouth.net, pictures would be good as well if possible. I can pick up a ton of these each day. I have seen pictures on here of ones been made and really like the looks. Thanks Don

Hanging electical cords over a hook invites disaster, leaves a kink also makes them suseptable to cracking. I use plastric mig wire spools cut in half to store them on, they are a throwaway item, so no cost and will hold several cords of the same length, I also use them for storing air hose.
i put a piece of auto vacum hose over my hooks for this very reason, so far no problems. -
Hey folks, from east central Alabama, linked to this site a day or so ago and haven't left except for bed. On such a beautiful day I was inside reading and searching this site. Total noob I am, but did score a NC tool forge the other day, guy was gettin out of the horse biz and let it go for near nothing, haven't fired it up yet. No tools or anything. Was hoping to get gas for it today, couldn't get away from this computer. Enjoy auto wrenching, thats a must,I have a 70 VW bug hope to rebuild starting this summer, so wrenching on it is a must. Also a92 Chevy PU, that I've sorta customized over the years, anyway love the site, lookin forward to reading and learning, am a member on other sites, VW, Chevy stuff, and know the search feature well, lookin forward to that as well. O yeah, 51yr. ol lookin to learn, Thanks

Oh, now he's raised the hook standard. I guess all of us are going to have to do a little better than a plain old S-hook in the future. Keep up the good work.
I originally thought the thread was for a project that was nine years old, not the smith.
Wish I could do that well, nice design, CUDOS to you dad, that time spent with the little fellow will be embedded in his mind, keep up with that quality time and he'll do fine in this art as well as in life. Very nice to see dads working and teaching their children, and, hello from east central Alabama.
Hinge job under way
