Alexander, you smithy looks like it belongs here in the Heart of Dixie

I like it!!! Very ergonomic and functional shape.

I like it.....just mill you a horn and table out of something and let the fun begin.

My Champion forge and Champion 400 blower. Next project is a hood and new legs for the forge.
-
Champion 400 mounted to the arm of my forge. The original blower was Lost or stolen. But this is the correct style blower for this forge. Even the make do galvanized pipe setup fit it.

Francis, It was a gift from stewartthesmith, I plan to clean up the mushroomed end. What is the best way to do that?
-
The Champion 400 blower I got from stewartthesmith, It is in really good shape externally and internally. Just need to remove several decades of grime and shoot some fresh paint on it.
-
The old air grate, and one I had made for a brakedrum forge I had plan to build. I decided to use it on the champion forge.

This is a scan of a piece of wrought iron I recieved from OldNRusty.
I cut and smoothed one end of the 5/4" bar. Then I etched it with sulfuric acid to show the grain structures of the bar.
This bar has a cold shut that runs the entire length. That is the big crack you see in the picture.
Just thought I would share it. -
Great forge! It looks really nice. Does the blower work? I have no idea on what it is worth but I know if the blower work it increases the value.
-
I would say no. It looks like a treadle powered grinder/sharpener missing the stone. You would sit on the seat and work the treadles which would turn the stone.

That is inspiring. I hope to reach that level one day.
