I'm very interested in seeing your castign process.

I'm sure that some sellers have a shill bidding up auctions. I discovered this several years ago. If I really want something; I won't bid untill the very end.

Thought I would bump this up since last night; our weekly smithing night. I took off my glasses literally 30 seconds before leaving and got a piece of hot metal in my eye while using hand held wire brush. It's was painfull all night and I'm off to the doctor this afternoon.

KEEP YOUR GLASSES ON UNTIL YOU ARE OUT OF THE SHOP.

They are cheap and easy. Unlike a doctor or possibly the loss of an eye.

I've wasted quite a bit of money on so so blacksmithing books and feel Marks are worth every penny! I had a bit of sticker shock also, but; In my mind they are the best books out there.

I'm new here and only have a couple of posts, Yet; I have already made plans to meet a couple of people here in two weeks at the CBA Octoberfest.

I think just let others know what event you're going to and plan a meet time or describe your truck ect.. Then you get to know eachother and plan to meet again.

I have this book and thinks it's great. As a novice I enjoy seeing the process and specific tools used.

Thanks for the welcome and complements on the anvils. I'va got about 30 hours of work into them.

The Chevy is a 60. Jere is repairing all of the rust.

I'm new to blacksmithing and just found this site. I have taken a four day beginning class and have just started taking a class from Jere Kirkpatric
of Valley forge here in Willits. With Jere's help I've made repairs to a couple of anvils (300# Arm & Hammer and a 178# Peter Wright) I've been hauling around for years waiting to try smithing. A picture is attached. It also show a trenton that I found about two months ago.
I look forward to learning as much as I can.
