  1. Ok so i have never blacksmith in my life but i thought it would be cool to get in to so i started to build a forge about a week ago this is what i got so far. its a work in progress i still need to finish up the stand and i need a blower i am not really sure what to use also i need to get a few more pipes. also do you guys and or gals think that a 2in pipe is enough air flow for its size

    any other recommendations on things i should do.

    yeah i would make it a little shallower but its lookn good :)
  2. well here is my new forge i still need to make the clinker breaker for it but i think its in great shape i have never seen a forge that had a built in cooling bath like this one i should have the blower mounted soon :) the tuyere slids in a slot on the bottom but this one was missing ugg i wish i had another so i dont have to make it. if any of yall know what brand this forge is plz let me know ttyl

  3. The blossoms are about 3" dia. and 2" high.

    The parts they're attached to are made from 2" EMT. I sanded off the galvanization, heated the ends and bent them inward with light taps until I could fit a fender washer in the hole. The washer has a 3/8" hole in the middle. The rose "stem" goes through that and is tack welded inside. All welds are made with a wire feed (no gas) and sanded smooth.

    This morning I welded the tops back onto the bedposts and sanded them smooth.



    gj on the roses a friend of mine make roses also and what he does when he finishes them is put a little cotton ball in the middle that is soaked with rose oil so it smell like a real rose ttyl

  4. ok i am making my first rotisserie and i cant figure out the traditional way to make adjustable prongs that hold the meat i am tryn to do it without having to use a welding machine. i want it to be period accurate so if any of yall can help me i would appreciate it :)

  5. hello all my name is Sterling Lynch i am a fellow blacksmith :). i ran across this forum because i had a problem tryn to figure a simple thing out lol i will post it in another section. well not much to say about myself but i like to work steel lol ttyl
