  1. Hope i'm not too late with this,
    I recently got a hypertherm powermax 45...it cuts up to 1" pretty easily and is supposed to cut a fair bit thicker than that.
    I was worried my workshop power supply wouldn't handle it as it's only 30 amps at 240v. This seems to be enough though, to run a 3 hp compressor and have the plasma running at full amps.
    I have just about finished setting up a new air system with better filtration to supply the plasma.

  2. That sounds like good advice Frosty, i'll start with something small and simple to get a feel for things. Maybe a few of the right sort of bricks and a simple burner so i can chop and change things to suit.

  3. Hello, I recently joined and am interested in having a go at forging.

    I work in quarrying here in the uk working on static plant/machinery...so lots of arc/mig welding and gas cutting involved.

    I am looking at making a gas forge sometime soon so will be looking around for helpfull ideas.
