Another forge welded bundle

Recommended Posts

Its lovely, and an impressive interpretation of hummingbird. I am assuming that your photos illustrate a successfull result with fig 7 and fig 6 illustrating you version of reject, i.e. two seperate pieces.
If this is the case then with the wings could you use a local heat with small gas nozzleand rotate the wings to a more appropriate pitch and realize satisfaction.
Just a thought shame to bin it..:o

It's the same pieces in all the pictures. I only have a forge, no torches. I'll make another when someone wants one. I'll leave it as is so others can see what not to do. It only takes about an hour if you're not taking pictures. I'm making a squid right now with the same technique. They're just examples for an upcoming class.

I hope mine get as good as that one, My first one was so out of proportion, it was like a stretched version, but yours is definately done different than mine, gotta try it that way. Yours looks like a blueprint candidate to me.

im amazed by the bird and the squid you make it look so easy - like all my fave forged things they look like they have been made out of plasticine not metal! they are both lovely and i dread to think what my work is if those are failures!! Respect to you - you are a perfectionist!

I can't wait for you to come here and teach these projects! I am really looking forward to seeing what the students can do in the forge welded bundle class. I think the squid is my favorite...

I may have to take some time off from work and take it myself!

Peyton, I just saw the new site and it looks great. The school has me itching to take some more classes. Really great line up and man would it be a treat to be able to take of the time in November to see Brian work in person!!

Come on down man. It has been a while since I have seen ya!

There is a lot more still to be planned.

Brain's classes are going to be great because of the use of the other classmates as strikers. Going to be a whole lot of learning goin' on!
