Sincere sorrow to hear of the personal family loss. It is AMAZING in that all the years we have typed on chats we now have another place in this particular thread to communicate during a crisis. Thank you Glenn for the bandwidth.

Frosty
Dale: Do you know Bele Beke, a smith that lives in Kinglake? He used to hang out in the Sandbox E-mail list when it was affiliated with Artmetal. I haven't heard from him in some time and am hoping he and his are okay. Frosty
I'm still keeping you and all those in peril in my mind and heart. Do you have a safe evacuation route? Take care. Frosty
ThomasPowers
Do you have a root celler you can throw the tools into so they won't get re-tempered? (a burried cistern with water in it would be even better) But far better to get out while the gettings good; folks have been lost trying to save stuff that *can* be replaced. Ted T
Yes, I was talking to Dale Russell last night (Monday 2-9-09) about mid-night (USA Rocky Mountain time). Dale said that he could hear debris landing on his tin roofs. He could also hear the helicopters fly over quite often. Shortly after midnight, he said the danger was over for him at this time (not his exact words). But he felt that he could now go in and get some sleep. It sounds like Dale (at least) is OK for now! I dont know about Moony, Brett, or Mr. Smith! Ted Throckmorton
Dodge
Not sure about others, but last I new, Brett was living near the west coast (Perth?). Fires were in the east, apparently right in Dales neck 'o' the woods :(

I'm off now on a relief crew from the mountains heading for Victoria with the RFS. Keep safe mate.
