divermike
These are a couple experiments in copper I have done, the ginko leaf and vessel were under the tutaledge of Roycroft Master Bob Trout. The handled trivet was just something I was fooling around with, I took some old 1/2" copper pipe and hammered it down and wrapped it on the handle, it sat on the back deck table and got rained on, thus the rust. It is apparent that it was the 1st one I tried, the mistakes are pretty evident, but I learned what not to do!
Frosty
I like the leaf and vessel and look forward to seeing your next trivet. What are the dimension of the vessel and what did you make it from? Frosty
divermike
The vessel was made from 2" copper pipe, and is about 5 inches tall, silver soldered the bottom plate on. Once I get up the nerve, I want to do a picture frame.
markb
Nice work! How thick is the copper in each piece, and were they annealed often in your process?
divermike
the pipe is whatever thickness 2" pipe is, don't really know, and the sheet of flat copper came from my buddy bob trout, it is about 18 guage I would say, but I think copper is done in pounds or something. I only annealed the first time, then worked it. Pretty cool the tooling he showed me, I had to make a lot of my own and he sold me some cool pieces on top of what he gave me. There is no end to where you can go with this.
