matt87
Welcome, P Perry. It would help if we knew where you live so we could help you better; just go to the top of the page, hit 'User CP' and enter your location. Then it appears in all of your posts. runes
I heard that "Barnhart studios" sell small amounts. I haven't checked the site myself.
imagedude
There's a website for tin knockers called www.tintinkers.org. I believe many of the members make their own tinplate.
Mike Ameling
A bunch of those tin tinkers guys got together and set up to make their own HOT-DIPPED tin, instead of just using modern electro-plated tin. There is a big difference in how well it holds up and resists rusting. A couple guys to contact would be Bob at Backwoods Tin (don't have his site bookmarked), or Jim Kimpell from Fort Dodge IA at Highhorse Trading Jim Kimpell brass kettles rob stone blankets They are both pretty involved in the national organization, and in making that Hot-Dipped tin available. So either should be able to direct you to sources of supply - including for the modern electro-plated tin. Their annual tinsmiths convergence (convention) is supposed to be down in central Iowa this summer. Hope this helps. Tinner's daughter
My father is a retired tinsmith and has hot dipped tin for sale. He also has some tinsmith tools that he is not using.
ThomasPowers
What tools? (and stuff for sale properly goes in the "Tailgating" forum) Knowing where in the world it is helps too; we have people from over 100 different countries participating here.
