Johnnie C.
I am looking for a good rounding hammer. I looked at new one but they are too pricey. I was wondering if anyone had one they are willing to sell? Weight dosen't really matter as long its in good working condition. I'm looking spend $0 - $40. Thanks Johnnie
KYBOY
I bought a new Diamond 2 1/4# rounding hammer for $35 and am very happy with it..I also have a Nordic 1 1/2# I bought for about $25 new...They are a good serviceable hammer..Not a Bloom or a Flat land forge but still decent hammers.. keykeeper
I use a Nordic 2 pound, paid $22 for it a couple years ago at a farrier supply. Favorite hammer for getting busy on the steel, great for just working out the day's frustrations. Moves metal nice, too!:D
John Martin
Have you thought about making one??? Otherwise, I'd look at rummage sales, I've gotten two nice rounding hammers that were farriers hammers before. I re-handled, and gave them to my welding teacher. NateDJ
Most farrier supply stores will sell good rounding hammers for about $20-$40. Not the very best hammers but a FAR Cry better than a Harbor Freight hammer, which will work with a little attention before each forging day and can be had for ~$5.
Brian C.
Ditto on the Diamond brand hammers. Good tools.
Bentiron1946
Hey all of the rounding hammers I ever bought were from farm stores and were fairly inexpensive. All were well within the range you are speaking of. Now I have a Jim Keith that I may part with for a mere $125 if you want something a tad bit better. It actually doesn't hit any better then my $12.50 farm store no name but is shore is pretty.;)
