FlatLiner
Thomas your block anvil looks similar to my block anvil. I just have mine oriented the other way. It is the companion anvil to my Sisco anvil. I use it if I need "good" edges for set downs etc.
ThomasPowers
I flip the orientation depending on the stand and on what I will be doing on it. Heavy forging/use of tooling==lower anvil face; delicate/precision forging==higher face. As I was doing an incised twist with my hot cut and hammer (and a friend holding the piece) I went with it lower.

ThomasPowers
I'm in limbo, my wife was so upset with my dentist that I'm stuck with 3 teeth left on my bottom jaw---he had removed 3 teeth in bad condition--broken and infected and then told us that he could not prescribe any pain medication! Not a lot of dental choice out here.
Frosty
And it's almost impossible to find a new doctor, dentist, etc. who will take new medicare patients. Filling prescriptions for pain meds is getting harder to the point of ridiculous, too many spent too many years filling them for dr. feelgood unlimited status so now they operate on corporate guidelines regardless of what the prescribing doctor prescribes. Many doctors won't prescribe serious pain meds and send you to a pain management specialist. Yeah, who needs doctors when mid level corporate managers will dictate your meds anyway? I don't know how we'll manage when things loosen up enough Deb and I'll be able to do some traveling, she's in chronic pain and takes pain meds long term. The new policies are doing damage to folks who legitimately need the meds. DANG, I was going to welcome you back earlier but kept forgetting. Welcome home Thomas, how's your Mom? Frosty The Lucky. Scott NC
Are those 3 teeth next to each other? That would help. I lost my uppers and had a three day panic attack until I found them in the washing machine. The one with no agitator. Probably why the didn't get all busted up. Oh, yeas welcome back. Hope mom's well.
ThomasPowers
Mom's doing ok, slowing down and the usual progression at 85. She has gotten the idea to clean out the house and so I will be making trips to help this summer. We would really like her to move to a smaller place, 5 bedrooms and 4 baths plus a formal dining room, large den and large kitchen is a bit more than she needs! (Or can manage.) On pain meds they have gone from overprescribing to under prescribing. I finally dug out some 12 year old ones to get over the hump; still have some left for the next extraction. Frosty
Wow, that is a big place, I hate vacuuming the living room a time or two a week! That's about the age when my folks decided to clear the decks, what a job, we're a family of pack rats, bordering on hoarders. Give her my best next time you see her please. Frosty The Lucky. ThomasPowers
They did fill in the in ground pool...One of the problems is that they designed the place to have all the features they wanted---my Father's office had 16 phone jacks for instance, (4 lines, but a jack for each on the 4 walls, he hated stringing cords across the floor: Business, Fax, Internet and Family.) Father died in that house and Mother wants to as well. It's also the place she has lived the longest in her entire life. I think a smaller place would take a lot of pressure off her; but...
