natkova
stock was like too small in diameter but i gave it a try. I think 14 mm can be made good tongs for some basic stuff holding issue with them that thin is you dont get enaugh wide jaw. And other time when i build one i wont build them that long like 25 inches with reins. I think smaller one is enaugh like 20 inches. Longer they are clummsyer in hand they feel. SHC
My tongs have 18 inch reins and I feel that’s just right for me. My hand was severely damaged in a motorcycle wreck, 18” is long enough to give me a secure grip and not so long that it’s clumsy to handle. natkova
I made boss to narrow so i had to drill hole litle bit lower than jaws. So they oppen now too much. But i think with cutting reins and drawing them in circle shape they are not that bad tongs. And when i forged boss i didnt flipped it 45 degrees so i had to grind it with angle grinder.
