lary
I haven't talked to the seller yet, but how is this mounted / secured. I'm guessing it mounts to the forge at the square flange? I don't see a way to put this on a stand. Or is this a cival defence blower?
TWISTEDWILLOW
Gearbox kinda looks like a model 40 to me, I have seen some old cast iron tuyere pipes that have a clamp to mount a flanged blower like that, depending on the price I’d go for it if it turns smoothly, an don’t have excessive play, shouldn’t be too hard to work up a mount for it! lary
In Oregon it seems blacksmithing tools run on the high priced side. Seller wants $250. I'm not in a hurry to get one, but would like to be set up better than I am for coal or charcoal. 'Thanks for the input.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
That is what Champion called their Lancaster blower. A very good one by the way, I have two of them one on the forge I built and the other on my Army (Cavalry) pack forge. here is how they were/are mounted to the tuyere. Frosty
The square flange was a common connection to the tuyere. The middle picture Randy posted clearly shows the clamp on the tuyere's square flange. With a little practice it's fast and easy. Frosty The Lucky. TWISTEDWILLOW
I came across a very similar cast iron tuyere pipe to that one in the first picture just on Friday
