Pancakeman
I inherited this anvil. There are no Markings on the anvil itself that will help me identify it. I do not know much about Advil so any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

swedefiddle
Good Morning Pan, If you put your area of the world in your avatar, we will have a better idea of where you are. There is nothing in your picture to relate what size it may be. It looks to me to be quite small. It probably is something that one of your family made. TWISTEDWILLOW
It looks like it’s made from one solid piece of steel to me, not forged together like a wrought anvil, I agree with swedefiddle it kinda looks home made, it’s pretty cool either way! I say Bury that square bottom in a stump and forge something on it to remember the previous owner by!
Frosty
How about a pic from another angle? Rotate it 90* so we can get an idea how thick/wide the lower section is, maybe one straight up from the "bottom" and another straight down on the face. Were I to have to guess from these pics I'd think it mounted to a wagon tongue or similar. The shank dropping through a bale onto a ledger and either pinning or bolting to the tongue. That's a WAG, of course. Knowing where you're located will help, maybe considerably. Frosty The Lucky.
ThomasPowers
Touch the base to a grindstone to see if it's steel or cast iron.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Kind of looks like a chain makers stake anvil to me.
arkie
I vote for the chainmaker's anvil, too. One would drape the weld over the round horn to refine the weld. I've seen similar anvils in several old videos.
