jlpservicesinc
So started this project several years ago.. 2001 F350 front wheel bearing out race.. 4X4 I put it on hold because I could not figure out a good way to mount the blade into a handle and still have "Timken ###### USA" Well it came to me in a brain storm and figured it out.. Not to bad for a prototype.. I am gifting it to somebody. The blade since it was orginally backwards had to be pushed back.. When I did this I lost some material.. I was not able to put a full sweep in for a skinning knife like I wanted to.. So had to modify it on the shape. Fitup was excellent on the the ledge. Anachronist58
That no longer even remotely looks like an LM104911. That aspect alone makes a tale worth telling! OK, I came across an image of an LM104911 with the stamping on the periphery, as opposed to the face - that is a bit easier to fathom... jlpservicesinc
I got lucky and saved all the ones with Timken USA on the outside.. Most timken now are made in spain and just etched.. So, this will go the way of real virgin W1.. 20211027_123229.mp4 back 20211027_124255.mp4
arkie
Jen, that is beautiful and innovative to have the race show up as an inlay. Never saw that before. The rivets are unique with the letters as well.
