vintagebob
As I was cutting off a piece of tubing in my vise, it rolled way under my bench. I had to get down with a light and when I did I thought, "What's that piece of rolled up carpet in the back against the wall?" I tugged it out and there was the anvil as seen in the last three photos. I don't remember when I stuffed it under there but it had to be 45 years ago or more because I took it when we cleaned out my dads' basement after he passed away which was about the time we moved into this house. Today I wire brushed it off and found it to be an old Peter Wright. However, I'm wondering its age and what the weight is showing. I thought it was 95 lbs but I don't think it is. The face is very flat but does have some damage at the back edges as seen. I dropped a ball bearing on it and the rebounding sound was music to my ears. The first two pics are of a very nice Hay-Budden I bought recently.
TWISTEDWILLOW
That’s a cool way to find an anvil right under your nose the whole time, I can’t make out that second digit but I think it’s a 2 so if it is then 0-2-5 would make it 61 pounds, but you might throw it on a bathroom scale an find out for sure, as for the age, Peter Wright anvils with the England stamp we’re made after 1910
Rojo Pedro
It looks to me like an upside down 5 being used as a 2. So how much does it weigh?
