Mcbob
Hello, I picked up this small vise, but I’m having trouble identifying it, the only marking it has is Cleveland as you will see in the photo. I think it’s possibly more of a craft vise due to its size. Any internet search for Cleveland Vise comes back with Colombian Vises but still can’t find anything like this. Hoping someone could help. Thanks
TWISTEDWILLOW
The vise in your link is a small wood working vise…
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
The Cleveland brand was made by Columbian Vise & Manufacturing. http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=11508

Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I think it's interesting that they spelled vise wrong.
ThomasPowers
I guess you are not familiar with Cleveland IDFCW! It is a bit odd that they used the English spelling instead of the American; perhaps they intended to sell in Canada? Now if there was a vise manufacturer in Miami County Ohio... Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
My folks relocated from the Cleveland area to Florida (of all places) when I was only five, long before I could become corrupted.Dad always said they were tried of Lake Erie catching on fire. I have run into some of the strange (by our standards) use of words when working on old British firearms.

Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Hammer vs Cock comes to mind. But then we use half cocked instead of half hammered.
