Nebraska
It's a bit rough, need to try and clean it up a bit. Believe it's a Fisher, weighed in at 155lb on my scale, and it has 1942 cast on the end. Wondering if that's it's date of birth? The top isn't pristine but it doesn't seem too bad. Thoughts? First anvil, about to embark on the journey. PS, I don't #believe# that's blood but you never know.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Definitely a Fisher made in '42 and the face is in very good shape for it's age. I hope you have read about not doing any grinding, milling or welding on the hardened steel face. The beauty of Fishers is they are quiet anvils and have excellent rebound. The most it needs is a wire wheel on a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder to clean it up and some BLO (boiled linseed oil) applied to keep it from rusting. Hammering hot steel will shine the face right up. BartW
That one looks good; and from some other pictures of that old anvils on this forum, that face looks fairly new. So I'd say pretty much excactly what Irondragon posted.

I always give a blood sacrifice to the anvil when things are going wrong.
