Flynn
Hi folks! Just saw this come up for sale in an auction. What do you think, is it just a piece of scrap steel, or is it a specific tool created for a purpose? I suspect it is just scrap, or the arcs would have different radiuses. Rojo Pedro
I would agree with scrap. Looks like it might have some usefulness For me 25 cents a pound max and I still dont think I want it
Frazer
I don't know what it was used for in its previous life, but it looks like a great bottom swage to me. A large radius you may not need often, but is very handy when you do. I would pick it up for my shop! For the right price of course.
ThomasPowers
It would be a lot more useful if each arc was a different radius. I'd pick it up at scrap rate or lower. I've had to use old wrought iron wagon tyres to get the right radius for a project before.
Flynn
Now I kind of want to make one of these with a different radius on each side. I doubt I'll bid on it because I'd have to have it shipped and that would put it way over what I'd be comfortable paying. Here's the link if anyone else is interested! Commercial auction house link removed per TOS. Edited February 19, 2021 by Mod30 Commercial link
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Did the ad say what the weight is? I probably would pass, unless the auction house was near me.
Flynn
Nope, and they'd have to ship it to me. Just an interesting shape and could be useful. Sorry for posting the link, I didn't realize it was against the rules. I won't do so again. I appreciate the mods being so on top of things! Frosty
Warm it up and it might make a good stool. Might be good to have around if it didn't cost too much but no specific use comes to mind. Frosty The Lucky.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Mike no problem, we all get edited now & then. The rules about posting links are funny, you can post the name of the company & item description, like XYZ Auction co item # 351 so folks who are interested can look them up. This kinda explains that.
