Stash
Yeah, it seems ol' sol is in a pretty active phase right now, peaking June/July IIRC. Break out the foil hat and welder's mask. Steve

ThomasPowers
Faraday cage for your electronics? Run put your smart phone under your anvil! Oops you don't have a Trenton with a large recess under it? Sorry!
Scott NC
Could I borrow one of yours? Now I'm worried.
ThomasPowers
Sure; stop by; I'm not using my 410# Trenton currently. You can also stash it in an ammo can and put it in an abandoned mine shaft; local Mountain has 23+ miles of shafts in it.
Scott NC
I guess I'll just look for the Northern Lights and take my chances.
SLAG
Folks, I found this article on the solar flare (really a coronal discharge), coming our way, It has good information including northern lights displays. George N. M.
Slag: Thanks, we are far enough north that we may get a display tonight. I'll be out looking. It has been years since I saw the aurora. G.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I'm already in the hills. Just too far south to see the "Northern Lights" darn. I think the coronal discharge started this afternoon, our satellite internet has been jacked so bad nothing would load.
Frosty
An auroral display visible half way down the lower 48 should be a really good show here. That means it'll be overcast here too. <sigh> Frosty The Lucky.

ThomasPowers
And some of us consider IronDragon's hills to be "Northern ones"! Any folks downunder getting to see the Southern Lights? (Wrong Season I know.)
Frosty
It was overcast but it's supposed to clear up today. I live is South Central Ak. plenty of Alaskans live farther: north, south, east and west. This is the UAF Aurora forecast page, there's a sky camera so you can watch live. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast Frosty The Lucky.
