floridafm
I just bought a house in Florida, and have a TON of these (I'm assuming wrought iron) gates, doors, window bars, etc. Are they worth anything in their current state, or if they were to be refinished? ThomasPowers
What do you see such stuff going for on a local craigslist? Out here I see them selling; but not for a whole lot. Those look to be nicer ones and so may bring more. Are they built to local code?
floridafm
Thanks for the response, I hadn't looked at Craigslist... I will try to offload them through that.
pnut
The question is are they really wrought iron or mild steel. I've only found one piece of actual decorative wrought iron for sale. Most people use the words wrought iron to describe any decorative steel railings and cast iron fencing etc. Pnut
ThomasPowers
Just like "Linens" are no longer made from real linen; but they used to be! So too "Wrought Iron" is no longer made from real wrought iron; but it used to be! Common CL mistakes have called it "rod iron" and even "rotten iron".
