jlpservicesinc
both days my first job was outside for 2 trims each morning at 730 am with 30mile per hour winds.. It was fun..
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Das, remember to turn the old cats in, as some are worth a few hundred in scrap value. A friend had the cats stolen off their SUV. Anachronist58 - the 1960 300F is a gorgeous car. I have a 1960 Windsor 2dr hardtop that is a project. Has the swivel front buckets which are pretty cool. Thomas, glad to hear you got the deal going, and you are on the mend.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
A friend of mine was a top notch dozer operator. In the winter he would reverse the cooling fan and it would pull air across the radiator and blow it right at him. Stayed comfortable that way. Jasent
My slack tub is frozen every morning. I just put it on top of the forge till it steams and the ice is gone. Anvil warms up after the first few heats. We did make it up to 39f today view from the smithy this morning during the 15 min of sunshine we had

CrazyGoatLady
Jennifer, you should tie yourself up to the horse so maybe you won't blow away Jasen, that's beautiful though
Frosty
That's too close Thomas, good thing your better half has experience. Deb's had to call EMS for me a couple times when I was finding the right meds to keep control. I don't know how low I was to need intraveinous infusion to stabilize enough for transport. I have seen 29 on my glucometer though but it's been a while. I have a pretty good handle on my symptoms. If I start arguing with people over things from decades ago, especially if I wake up to do it it's cookie time. Heck, everybody, even you healthy folks take care of yourselves will ya. How's that, I didn't say anything about the temp warming up into the low teens and how good it feels. Frosty The Lucky.

Daswulf
Finished 25 cigar pokers for a commission I got. Seemed simple at the time but it was drudging. Thankfully I was able to draw it out. A few here and there.
CrazyGoatLady
Those are really neat Das. I remember you mentioning those before and I had to look them up. Is it a club or a store or something that you made them for? I don't know if there would be a market for those around me. Craft beer, distilleries and wineries are a very trendy in my neck of the woods. I thought about something that would appeal these folks. Bottle openers for sure I would think. Anyway, I like them. Nice clean work

ThomasPowers
With all the casinos out this way, I'm thinking of trying a run of upscale dice twist items and see if there is any interest in their souvenir shops. I used to be hypoglycemic; my Dr once told me that very rarely someone hypo will flip to hyper---next time I saw him I was diabetic, adult onset type 1. Something is a bit screwy lately as my numbers are not following my food intake and bolusing. Woke me up in the middle of the night. Me and my friend are beginning to plot the powerhammer possession. He has a trailer with a large humidor built in. There are a lot of cigar shops around the area here. I have some other ideas kicking around including some forged/ scrapart ashtrays. +1 on what Pnut suggested. There are some casinos in my area as well Thomas. Might be some ideas there. On more than one occasion they have caressed me and held me up when I was particularly sore.. These guys are great so was fun.. I'm a lucky person indeed. Jasent, what is your altitude? CrazyGoatLady
That's because horses are awesome like that I like my warmer weather, but a view like Jasen has in that picture can't be beat. Thanks for the ideas Das and pnut. Great minds think alike. We have casinos here. Well, in Oklahoma which I'm only about 30 miles from the state border. But they employ a lot of people from this area including my son.
SLAG
C.G.L., I just had a creative thought. Would a smithed bottle or flask bourbon bottle holder be a good sale item for a man's study or man cave. They could be a wall sconce or a table fixture. It should be snazzy looking for the suggested high price that it should be retailed for. (it would take a fair amount of work and sturdy material ) And it should have exclusivity, and snob value, to justify the premium price.* Just a stray thought I cherish them, they are so rare. SLAG. * an inexpensive price would not be successful, it would have no exclusivity. Methinks.
CrazyGoatLady
Made me chuckle SLAG. I love your sense of humor. But you know, that's an intriguing idea you have. And your absolutely on target as well. It's strange. Growing up, this was a one- horse town where the wasnt much to do or see really. Now it's a hub for things like these wineries and such and farmers markets. There is also a big vendors event held once a month with a lot of high end products. Things have changed so much
ThomasPowers
Go large or go home!----Make it to hold a barrel of Bourbon! Perhaps an upsized holder like they used to make for the 5 gallon glass bottles of water.
Dax Hewitt
Thomas I don't know if this will help but my Mrs is type 1 and even a simple cold sends her levels wappy. She finds the best way to manage it is porridge, nice slow release carb / sugar that helps her stabilise things.
ThomasPowers
Are you trying to tell me "it's a cold gruel world"? Being sick usually raises my numbers and I'm having trouble with sudden lows---my new Dr already labeled me "brittle" on my chart. (Thanks for the suggestion; I'll try it out this weekend with our steel cut oats and some heavy labour.)
