baby sitting  Litzie, (the wonder felid)

My wife's Granny was of the old ways and a very wise person. She always said to watch the cat, because if left unattended while you were sleeping, they would take your baby's breath away. She knew about all of the herbal remedies, I wish we would have written them down.  She was also very sensitive to earth quakes. She could feel them long before the news would report on them happening in Oklahoma.

Built a mount for the new motor on the horizontal bandsaw:

Unfortunately, the blade wasn’t tracking properly and kept jumping off the wheels. After much fiddling, I realized that this was because the motor was running CCW instead of CW.

Now I have to figure out if there is some way I can reverse the rotation on the motor or if I’ll need to make a mount facing the other way.

Been a while since I've been on ifi. In my absence i made some old friends from AZ a bracelet and bottle opener, and their kids some troll crosses.604966769_IMG_20190722_0911218202.thumb.jpg.a24f1397abd5e3520243127e87990d22.jpg1732280074_IMG_20190722_0913161162.thumb.jpg.2af657e57add9ea0a6029a34de35df28.jpg548842358_IMG_20190722_0912486402.thumb.jpg.2b247e65970679e877d315ddaba8cfbd.jpg

not sure about how medicinal it is, but I have experienced on multiple occasions where by muddling mint in your drinking water bottle and drinking the mint water for a few (3-4) days you can start feeling the menthol coming out with your sweat. It makes a nice cooling effect while you work.

It's an old ranchers trick I learned while gathering cows for weeks at a time. They would put the mint in the water cooler so you got it whenever you filled your water bottle. It started because it tasted better than plain water, but they found the other side effect quite pleasent

Shabumi, those are very nice looking. Good work. I made a bottle opener today also. The first real one I've made and it has opened two beers so far;) it's made from one of the things sitting next to it. I don't know what they are, but I have a handful of them. Already had holes, so all I had to do was drift them further. And some more shoes. I get kind of bored with them sometimes, but I haven't perfected them yet, so gotta keep practicing.

arkie, thank you. I've got he point on the bottom of the heart pretty much down. It's just the symmetry with the branches. Hard to get them as evenly matched as I'd like.

TP, I'd like to be able to put initials or names on some items, but I don't have letter stamps. Unless there is another way to do that?

CheechWizard, very nice. I really like the profile on the bowie:)

You've been busy Chris, NICE work. The candle sconces(?) look very nice, well done. I like the critters too, those'd make darned marketable products. The ladies will LOVE the kitty and there are lots of appropriate paint patterns for variety. Crabs are always popular and are capable of dramatic poses.

I think you have money makers there.

Chris very creative with horseshoe critters, what metal ( reflective)l are behind the candles and how did u hang them?

My dad made a wagon wheel coffee table years ago and two couch side tables with welded up horse shoe bases, expense was having glass cut circa 1970s. Especially the round glass with round glass cut in center for wagon wheel hub

The horse shoes and mule shoes were dug up from old logging camps in west Virginia, his cousin found out from old timers when mountain was logged then u would find creek area where u would think they had a camp in a area that matched age of current trees and I be xxxxxx if we didn't find them cool huh?

Just chiming in with another bottle opener. This is my third one. I like making these quite a bit. I'm thinking stocking stuffers. Guess I better get busy. My son works at the casino and he is friends with some of the bartenders. He said they would probably love them. Maybe a little cash for the Christmas fund? Either way, these are fun to make.
