Jaegers Forge and Foundry
I'm trying to find classes to further my skills but a lot of classes are closed due to the pandemic. How should I go about furthering my skills.
George N. M.
J, My best suggestion for what to do in lieu of live classes and demonstrations during the pandemic is either you tube videos or, if your local black smithing group maintains a video library, borrow tapes or disks from them. there are some really good ones on you tube and some really marginal ones too. You can usually tell the difference pretty early on. I like Jennifer's videos and Black Bear Forge and there are a lot of other ones too. There may be specific knife making ones too. ThomasPowers
Do a series of projects designed to emphasize skills you have problems with. Do large multiples of a specific item trying to make each one better than the last. Plan and execute improvements to your kit.
Jaegers Forge and Foundry
I've been forging things like leaf necklaces and things like that but I'm running out of steel for that
