Momatt
This was a piece of 1-1/8 square from a pto shaft. Decided to try a carpenter style. It’s rubbish but was fun to forge. I put an handle on it and gave to my daughter for a toy.
Awrksmokey
Why is it rubbish? It looks really good and functional to me.
pnut
Looks good to me too. I guess you're seeing some horrible flaw I'm unable to spot. Pnut
Momatt
When I first started I would have been very proud and thought wow you can tell this is a hammer! Now I have higher expectations, I want it to look like I pictured. I should have drawn cheeks out when it was lower on the drift. NOw I’m out of drift. Each one I learn something and after fighting weakness for a year it’s feels good to be in front of the anvil again.
Goods
I was going to comment that it looks good also, but I understand you perspective. When I have an image in my head of what I want to make and if doesn’t come out the way I wanted, I usually end up over working it and destroying it or just throw it in the (now large) scrap pile. Honestly, it’s a nice hammer. David
ThomasPowers
I hope you put your touchmark on it so when she possibly hands it down to your grandkids or great grandkids they will know what a special gift it is.
Frosty
We all see flaws in our work, actual or not. A little brushing and it'll be a family showpiece for generations. It looks perfectly usable to me by the way, Well done. Frosty The Lucky.
