Okiwen
This anvil has a crack between the hard plate and the casting on one of the quarters. In general, able to fix so it does continue to run?

ThomasPowers
Skill set? Equipment? Would it make a difference if repairing it cost several times more than buying one in better condition?
Okiwen
Oops. Picture didn't stick. This anvil has a "W" impressed in it. It has a square hole in one end and a round in the other. I was told it is from around the 1850s but am trying to confirm where that came from. It is about 240 pounds.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I think it's an American Star anvil.
Okiwen
Yes. There is a core hole up the center. Great, that kind of sets a date. I will clean it up either way, but i am not a welder myself, and i didn't want to cause further damage by using it as is.
