Depending on price and location, I would say it's a good starting anvil. Should weigh about 168 pounds.

Welcome aboard Johngo, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many members are within visiting distance. Many questions have a strong location component, were you to have asked if it was priced fairly location would've been a must.

Quality on the other hand is easier. Brooks are high quality cast steel anvils and that one appears to be in excellent question. Being in company colors I'd say it probably hasn't been through a fire so it's heat treat is undamaged.
