JamesDavid Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Good evening fellow forgers, I have what I am pretty sure is a Champion 147-22 forge. I am restoring it and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the gears out. I think maybe I have to pull the pin out and that will release the gear on the left in the darker picture ?? I have the rest apart and sandblasted already but I tried to get the pin out and it wont come out but not even sure if it is supposed to. Thanks for any help !!! James from Maine Quote

We won't remember your location after leaving this post, hence the suggestion to edit your profile to show it. This thread will help you get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST The blower looks like a number 40 or 400 and there are several threads about rebuilding them. I have never had one apart so can't help but I've read that unless it's absolutely necessary it is recommend not to pull the gears. Quote
BIGGUNDOCTOR Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Clean it up as it is,electrolysis, and assemble it. Those gears look to be in great shape, so unless the busings are sloppy leave it alone before something gets broke. Quote
